I am an artist of color, a storyteller, a creator, a director, teacher, an actor, a singer, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a colleague, a friend, a student, a lifelong learner. I wear many hats in my life and they are all apparent in my work.
My artistic practice involves creating work that is relevant, heartwarming, smart, diverse and speaks to today’s world; building community as we move forward pushing past boundaries, creating in brave spaces in a collaborative setting with designers, actors, technicians, producers. I am a multifaceted artist at home with plays and musicals. I believe in the story that we build and value process on the road to the performance, finding the light in the dark and the heart in the story as we delve into character and live in that world. I love the theatre family that is created as we all come together to bring a story to life. Understanding how to reach our audience and how to include them in our storytelling and our community is of the utmost importance always. We create together and what a gift that is! I believe in the transformational power of theatre.
